About the ashram
The Akhil Bharatiya Gurudas Seva Ashram is a spiritual and social-service ashram in Ghatnandur (Tal. Ambajogai, Dist. Beed). Shri Sant Gurudev Maharaj founded it in 1984 by giving his own 14 acres of land.
Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj's Gramgeeta is its foundation: when the village improves, society improves, and when society improves, so does the nation. In that spirit the ashram runs a hostel for the boys and girls who live there, a home for elders with no one to care for them, and, for this ashram family, annadan, health check-ups and music and bhajan training.
Gurudev Maharaj used to say that Ram is found in work. He saw God in the fields, in caring for elders and in teaching children. With the same spirit, the ashram family serves every day.
Our story

When Gurudev Maharaj gave his 14 acres in 1984, the land was barren and rocky. Villagers gave their labour as shramdaan: they built bunds, farmed the land and planted trees.
Today the same land holds a hostel, an old-age home, fields and green trees. In this journey of forty years, every stage was built through seva.
Drag the line left and right to compare then and today.

Life at the ashram
In the morning the kitchen starts cooking for everyone. Elders sit and talk on the bench under the trees, grandmothers share tea and news on the veranda, and some of the women sort groundnuts together.
The hostel children, the elders of the old-age home and the sevaks who serve them all live on the same campus. The ashram is their family.
