Women's empowerment
Confidence and self-reliance for the women of the ashram family
Why this seva
Women's empowerment: how it began, and today
From the very first years, the women of the ashram family have done much of its farming, shramdaan and seva. Shama came to the ashram as a girl who had lost her father; she served in every task, sweeping, cooking, sowing, weeding and harvesting, caring for the cows, and she wrote down Gurudev Maharaj's bhajans.
The women of the ashram family still take part in farming, care for the cows, the kitchen and bhajan with confidence.

About the ashram
An ashram family that walks in Gurudev Maharaj's way
The Akhil Bharatiya Gurudas Seva Ashram is one family: the elders who live at the ashram, the students in its hostel and its sevaks. Shri Sant Gurudev Maharaj founded it in 1984 on his own 14 acres, on the thought of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj's Gramgeeta.
His ideal was a simple life ‘until everyone has food, clothing and shelter’. Every seva of the ashram still follows the way he laid down, and your help reaches this same ashram family.
