Why this seva

Farming, cows & environment: how it began, and today

The land given in 1984 was barren and rocky. Through shramdaan it was terraced, farmed and planted; today it is green. The ashram family farms the land, cares for the cows and plants trees, and this farming feeds the ashram family's annadan.

Gurudev Maharaj saw God in the fields: on the last day of his life he was still sowing, and as he released the bullocks he told them, “Now you rest.”

About the ashram

An ashram family that walks in Gurudev Maharaj's way

The Akhil Bharatiya Gurudas Seva Ashram is one family: the elders who live at the ashram, the students in its hostel and its sevaks. Shri Sant Gurudev Maharaj founded it in 1984 on his own 14 acres, on the thought of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj's Gramgeeta.

His ideal was a simple life ‘until everyone has food, clothing and shelter’. Every seva of the ashram still follows the way he laid down, and your help reaches this same ashram family.
